 in the future!!

2012-

2013-
Thursday, May 23 - Saturday, May 25

FURTHER NOTE:

The dates we have chosen will always be the weekend between Mother's Day and Memorial Day which was always our first choice ever since we began CHEA!! This seems to be the best weekend for most folks, BEFORE the big graduation and wedding season. In years where there are two weekends between Mother's Day and Memorial Day, we have chosen one of the two. Be assured, though, that these conference dates will always fall BEFORE Memorial Day!!
We ask that you give these dates to your support group leaders, and please, ask them to consider those dates when planning end-of-the-year events for your group. If they have the dates ahead of time, they can schedule in end-of-the-year events such as graduation, on another weekend, so that everyone in the support group can take advantage of attending conference. Remember, it only comes once a year!!!
Thank you for your support of Wisconsin CHEA!!

WHY ATTEND A HOME SCHOOL CONFERENCE? Conference

This is a great question!! After all, we know that it takes a lot of effort on your part to attend our conferences. It takes money, time set aside to come away from your regular activities, travel time, and more...

BUT-- the benefits will bless you tremendously!!

BENEFITS:

1.  Remember, the statistics show that getting away from your daily routine puts back enthusiasm, energy and a sense of peace and stability into your life. And what greater area of need is there than that of our parenting and home educating skills??

2.  Your entire family will meet other like-minded families. Your children and teens will see that there are many other families out there home schooling, and that will help them to identify with their lifestyle. The fellowship with others will enhance your lives, create new friendships and perhaps even begin long-term relationships!! Many attendees continue communicating with those they meet at conference, and love to come together once a year at conference to renew their friendships!

3.  Our speakers are top-notch!! They will encourage stimulate, encourage, educate, encourage, entertain, encourage and bless you!!! Oh, yes, did I mention that they will ENCOURAGE you??

4.  The vendor halls are full of well-trained, seasoned, experienced, qualified and educated representatives who can help you with the all-important choice of which curriculum to use, which material to purchase, and you will get hands-on experience on all of the materials presented in the vendor halls. You may browse and buy to your heart's content. See the materials, read through the contents, talk with the representatives, and ASK QUESTIONS.  This time will help you to make educated choices of what to use for each of your children, to help them learn to the best of their ability.

5.  Many folks have said that the savings they gain (and the money they earn by selling their own used materials) at the Used Book Sale has more than paid for the entire weekend at conference, and even more!! No guarantee on that, of course, but we know that you will experience great savings, and find great materials-- our Used Book Sale is the LARGEST of its kind in the state of Wisconsin. You can view thousands of items-- ALL AT ONCE-- ALL IN ONE PLACE!!

We could go on and on, but we will end simply by encouraging you to come to conference--- and  PLEASE -- continue to return to conference-- each and every year!!! Each year is a new experience, and you will gain something each time you come!! By coming to conference, that shows us that you support our ministry and support the work we are doing for ALL homeschoolers here in Wisconsin.

REMEMBER--- our conference is our ONE big fund raiser of the year. The funds we receive from the conference must allow us to run the ministry ALL YEAR LONG-- not just the conference-- we have many bills, just like any other business-  facility, storage, transportation, telephone, internet, postage, printing, and on and on it goes!!!

If you believe in Wisconsin CHEA, you will desire to support us with your attendance at our annual conferences. Please pray for us and support us throughout the year as well.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF WISCONSIN CHEA THROUGH YOUR ATTENDANCE AT OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE!!

CAN I REALLY AFFORD TO COME TO CONFERENCE??

DEFINITELY--- YES!!! The REAL question is--- can you afford NOT to come to conference?? With such wonderful benefits for all ages, you won't EVER want to miss a conference??

TELL ME HOW!!!

Here are some tips we have learned over the years-- we know that many of you are on tight budgets (we here can certainly relate to that!!), but you would be surprised at how much you can save with just a small amount of planning!!

Piggy Bank1. Get a jar and place it in a prominent place-- have everyone in the family work together to drop in their spare change in the jar every day!! On payday, place a few dollars in the jar- it will add up much more quickly!!
MOMS-- here's a tip for you-- When you use those coupons at the grocery store, count up how much you have saved, and put that amount in the jar each week!!
DADS-- Instead of buying coffee out of the machine at work, or stopping by a fancy coffee shop for morning coffee, take along a thermos to work. Then, on a weekly or daily basis, put the amount you would have spent on coffee into the jar!!
KIDS-- Offer to do odd jobs around the neighborhood, and throw your earnings into the jar!!

Remember-- we publish our dates at least a year in advance-- most years, you have two to three years of dates published, so you have at least a year to save!!!
Write down your goal in a notebook, and then check each month to see how close you are getting to your goal!!
If you really want to make a family vacation out of conference, add in lodging and special meals out-- you can have a great vacation on a small budget!!!

2.  Give up a few trips to the local fast food restaurants.. Save that money and put it in your jar!!

3.  Instead of going out to activities that cost a lot, like bowling, batting cages, miniature golf, skating, etc.... take family walks instead-- go to parks-- do fun things that don't cost a lot!! Then, put that money you would have spent aside in your jar!!

4.  Realize that what you are saving for is not just a weekend listening to speakers, but for a getaway with your spouse and/or your children!! Get away and rest, learn, fellowship with others, and just enjoy each other's company away from the day-to-day routine. It will work wonders for everyone!!
Yes, the conference is fast-paced, and a lot is packed into a small amount of time. But, come a few days early, or stay over a few days, and then you can have a lot of quality family time. Get out the tour guides and see what is in the area--Wisconsin has some wonderful sights to see--  make this conference a fun and a learning time for the whole family!!
